Star 8 Green Drone programme is the development of multicopter drone aircraft for provision of services and carrying of cargo. That is they are not primarily for the transporting of passengers and unless human piloted with be controlled from the ground by remote wireless controller.

They can be used for many useful and varied applications. A few examples is fire fighting and providing access to difficult or dangerous fire zones, life saving and rescue, agricultural spraying and remote cattle mustering. Many of the current uses for helicopters will be able to be performed by drones at a much cheaper acquisition and operating cost and requiring less pilot training.
