Long Life
The number of battery cycles is a measure of battery life. Few batteries last past 7 years but Star 8 Endurance batteries last for decades. Titanate batteries can cycle during the warranty period in excess of 35,000 times (Sodium 10,000) compared to other batteries 3,000 to 6000 cycles.
During one Titanate battery lifetime other batteries would be replaced 5 or 6 times.

Low Storage Gap
Storage GAP occurs when a battery loses storage capacity over its life. Often a battery storage system is designed based on the user requirements but over time it starts to fall short as battery storage capacity reduces. We call this the STORAGE GAP.
Another term often used is Depth of Discharge (DOD). The higher the DOD % the greater the capacity of the battery to store energy. Many battery manufacturers offer a 10 year warranty period however in reality the capacity starts at 80% and reduces over the period to as low as 60% -70% and even lower.
Star 8 Endurance batteries commence with 100% discharge capability and even after 10 years or 10,000 cycles they still cycle around 100%.

Battery Throughput
Perhaps the best measure of battery effectiveness is “throughput”. Throughput is the total energy a battery can be expected to store and deliver over its lifetime. This measure reflects the longevity of the battery and its ability to maintain a high DOD.
Because of its high cycles and DOD, these Endurance batteries can store up to 10 x the throughput of other batteries. This represents an excellent return on investment.

SAFE – NO FIRE RISK
Star 8 Lithium Titanate batteries are SAFE. There is no fire risk as they are not liable to thermal runaway.

FAST CHARGING / DISCHARGING
Titanate batteries can charge and discharge in as low as 6 minutes and Sodium batteries in 30 minutes. This makes them an excellent battery for EV charging.
20,000 CYCLE WARRANTY
10–20-year warranties are available while 20,000 cycles is the standard warranty. A true proof of confidence in the battery life and performance.
LOW COST OF ENERGY
When the cost of the batteries is divided by the warrantied output Star 8 LTO batteries cost around 7c/kWh (Sodium 16c/kWh) compared to 30 to 40c/kWh of other batteries.
This represents a massive saving and excellent return on investment.

Robust
Star 8 Endurance batteries are able to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to+60°C without the need to divert stored energy for the purposes of maintaining an optimal storage temperature. Unlike other batteries Star 8 batteries do not suffer a significant degradation in performance as temperatures become more extreme.
Battery Monitoring
Effective battery monitoring means no surprises. Our remote monitoring system is a highly flexible and powerful alert-based tool for remote monitoring, programming, and reporting. It provides cell level monitoring, remote programming of inverters, solar inverters and charge controllers and can also monitor and remote program third party devices such as air conditioners, coolers, freezers, generators etc.
It can also be bound with other monitoring platforms, be used in the energy markets, and assist in load shedding, lowering demand costs and creating greater efficiencies. The system is fully programable, allowing for other features to be added as required.
