LOCATION:

Windaroo Valley State High School, Queensland

PROJECT SUMMARY:

Logan City Council approached Star 8 regarding the front car park of Windaroo Valley State High School in Queensland. The motivation for the project was to replace the existing faulty solar lights, which were no longer bright, reliable, or cost-effective to repair. Our solar lights were chosen as the preferred solution because they offered a quick, easy, and affordable way to retrofit lighting to the existing poles without closing the carpark for long periods.

After assessing the requirements, Star 8 confirmed that the Slimline Atlas Solar Light (RSL-4, 4000 lumens) would be the most suitable option. The Slimline series comes with daylight sensors, PIR motion sensors, three lighting modes, excellent autonomy (7+ nights per charge), and 3-year warranties.

SOLUTION:

The council installed 10 Slimline Atlas Solar Lights, retrofitted to the existing carpark poles. The solution allowed for a quick, low-cost installation while utilising existing infrastructure.

RESULT:

The car park is now well lit and has reliable solar lighting. While specifications of the previous lights are unknown, the Slimline Atlas Solar Lights provide excellent autonomy and improved overall performance. This solution was quick-to-install, cost-effective, and low-maintenance, making it ideal for the school’s needs.
